Choike at the Third High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness
Choike, a portal created by the Third World Institute (Instituto del Tercer Mundo, ITeM) that gives visibility to the work done by social movements from the South, will cover the Third High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness that takes place 2-4 September in Accra, Ghana. Elsa Duhagon, member of the Choike editorial team, will be in Accra to participate in the Accra Women’s Forum that will take place before the High-Level Forum as well as in the Civil Society Parallel Forum. During those days – of the parallel forums and the official Accra Forum – Choike will be doing a special press coverage in English and Spanish of the events.

"Policy incoherence" frustrates funding for gender equity
Inequality between men and women "is not always linked to poverty. We must not postpone action until we are rich and happy, because we may get rich without achieving gender equality," Roberto Bissio, coordinator of the international network Social Watch, told IPS. Interview by Ana Artigas.

Gender Equity Index 2008
NEW YORK (Feb 28) – The economic dimension is the next challenge towards global gender equity. More than half the women in the world live in countries that have made no progress towards gender equity in recent years. That is one of the findings of the Gender Equity Index (GEI) 2008 that Social Watch launched here as a contribution to the 52nd Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women that will end next March 8, the International Women’s Day.
